Earlestown Levelling Up Fund Success
We are delighted to learn that St Helen Borough Council's application to the Levelling Up Fund, supported by Matt Brook Architects, was successful with £20m awarded to support regeneration plans for Earlestown Town Centre.

Funding will support works at the Town Hall, railway station and to revitalise the town’s historic market square. Our proposals for the market square include a new market canopy and landscaping that will not only support an improved market for traders and for those shopping but will also support a range of other activities at the square to broaden its appeal for the town.
Proposals will also improve the visibility and setting of the listed on-site obelisk and adjacent town hall building, as well as transitioning the square from that of a vehicle-dominated environment to one that prioritises pedestrian footfall. Increased naturalistic planting and soft landscaping improves biodiversity on site as well as making the square a more pleasant environment for people to dwell and spend time in.
